It is with great pleasure that the Whittier City School District announces Mr. Chris Quirarte was approved as the principal of Andrews School at the regular board meeting on May 10, 2016.  Mr. Quirarte will assume the duties of the principal position effective July 1, 2016. 


Mr. Quirarte has been a part of the Whittier City School District for nearly twenty years, excelling in a vast range of positions at the elementary and middle school levels. Chris was a highly successful classroom teacher for over ten years, a teaching vice principal for several years, an out-of-the-classroom Mentor Teacher for two years, and is currently in his fourth year serving as an elementary and middle school Instructional Specialist.  He is knowledgeable of the best pedagogical practices and has extensive experience in effectively leading instructional improvements.  His uncompromising commitment to excellence in education, coupled with his warm, caring, and gregarious personality, make him an excellent fit for the Andrews School Community. 


Mr. Quirarte looks forward to working with the teachers, parents, and students in order to maintain the high expectations for student learning and sustain the nurturing school culture that the Andrews’ community values and upholds.

Andrews has expanded to a K-8 Learning Academy

We are proud to announce that Andrews now includes three 6th grade classes, as well as two 7th and 8th grade classes. There are many great things in the works, like intramural sports and Science Olympiad, with much more to come!

We are proud to announce that all students participate in the MIND Research Institute Math software program at Andrews Elementary School.  This completely visual, web based software program promotes logical and spatial reasoning and enhances our existing math curriculum.
